Mothers were never meant to do this alone.
Did you know that caring for a baby is a full-time job? Breastfeeding can easily take eight hours out of your day – not to mention changing nappies, bathing your baby, soothing them and providing the constant comfort that a newborn needs.
You may have heard the advice “sleep when the baby sleeps,” but when exactly are you supposed to feed yourself…shower…cook…tidy your house…schedule important appointments…and just relax? Many new mums try to do it all, and end up exhausted, overwhelmed and discouraged.
How would you like an extra pair of arms to cuddle your baby while you shower or take a nap? How would it feel to have a nourishing hot lunch prepared and served to you, rather than eating cold leftovers with one hand?
What postnatal support looks like
As your postnatal doula, I spend a half-day in your home with you, providing practical and emotional support. You’ll be able to get your breastfeeding questions answered on the spot, or if it’s out of my scope I can immediately connect you with high quality local resources. You can talk about any concerns or worries you may have, without feeling judged or criticised. I leave you feeling rested, calm, and better able to face the challenges of motherhood.
All premium postnatal support packages include a year membership to Mothers Circle, so you can start building your village of support and connecting with like-minded mothers. You never have to feel alone or isolated, even if you don’t have family in Canberra or don’t know anyone else having a baby.
You’ve spent a lot of time researching and learning how to care for your baby. But sometimes the best gift you can give to your baby is the gift of a rested, peaceful and confident mother.
Are you interested in home support? Please fill out the form below and I will get back to you shortly.
